Who Is Yamicia Connor—and Why Your Support Matters?
💖 Thank You for Believing Before the World Caught On
Truly—thank you.
Every time you read, subscribe, share, or send us a message… it matters.
Not in the abstract, but in the real. In the late nights. In the hard conversations. In the moments we wonder if this model will ever be understood by a system not built to hold us.
Your belief is how we kept going.
Over the past two years, we’ve been quietly building something bold:
A healthcare platform rooted in justice.
A clinical model that centers cultural competency, legal protection, and actual joy.
A vision that many called too radical, too niche, too soon.
And yet—here we are. Because of you.
You saw what we were doing before it had the buzzwords or the backers.
You stayed when we pivoted. You showed up when it was still a whisper.
You are the reason this exists.
🌱 Who I Am—and Why Your Support Matters
I’m Dr. Yamicia Connor. A mother. A surgeon. A founder. A builder.
I’ve spent the past decade inside emergency rooms, OB units, and systems that consistently failed the very women they claimed to serve. I became a mother inside those systems. I watched how even I—armed with degrees and credentials—was vulnerable to neglect.
So I decided to do something I was never trained to do: build the system I wish had existed for me.
I invested $350,000 of my own earnings into Diosa Ara.
I don’t take a salary. I won’t until we cross $2M in revenue.
Because this isn’t just a business. It’s a blueprint.
Your subscription isn’t a donation.
It’s not a tip jar.
It’s capital—fuel for a new kind of medical infrastructure.
🧱 Not Just Me—This Is a Team Effort, Fueled by Purpose
Let me be clear: this is not a solo act.
There is an entire infrastructure behind Diosa Ara—an extraordinary team working with grit, grace, and radical commitment. They are underpaid, overworked, and juggling 100 impossible tasks at any given moment. And yet, they show up. Every single day.
They write the clinical guides.
They code the platforms.
They research laws, manage chaos, schedule consultations, and build systems that don’t yet exist in the world.
And they do it not for prestige, not for glory, and certainly not for a padded paycheck.
They do it because they believe—like I do—that human dignity has value.
This isn’t some cookie-cutter tech startup with flashy decks and inflated valuations.
There’s no IPO chase here. No overnight exit plan.
Just the audacity to build something that actually matters.
Because while our work may never show up on an investor’s balance sheet,
we know the truth: what we’re building will outlast all of it.
When a woman gets the care she needs.
When a birth goes safely that might not have.
When a teen learns her rights and refuses to be silenced.
That is value.
That is impact.
That is worth.
Even if our political leaders have forgotten that.
Even if the headlines tell us otherwise.
We haven’t forgotten. And we never will.
🫂 What Keeps Us Going
We’ve worked through the night.
Met impossible deadlines.
Became professional jugglers of a thousand competing tasks.
There have been moments we didn’t know where the next round of funding would come from—or how we’d get through the month.
But in all that chaos, there is also honor.
Honor in standing up at a time when it really matters.
Honor in reminding women and girls: We see you. We hear you. We are fighting for you.
We are fearless because of you:
The single mother raising three kids on minimum wage, sacrificing everything to give them a better life.
The young professional navigating a toxic boss and a racist workplace while still showing up with her head held high.
The middle-aged woman suffering her fourth miscarriage, treated like a criminal instead of a patient deserving compassion.
You are the reason we keep building.
Your lives matter—to us. Even when this country forgets.
And one day soon, the world will look at what we’ve built together and know:
This is what dignity looks like.
